Roland Hemming - Biography

Roland Hemming has established himself as one of the leading audio consultants and project managers. His wide experience ranges from live events to construction sites, from manufacturing to installation, from hotels to rail, cruise ships to theatre, corporate AV, broadcast, education and stadia.

His 22-year career in the industry has taken him from sound engineer and designer at Theatre Projects where he worked on West End and touring theatre, conferences and special events. He set up the UK’s first ever show control division renting out computer control of sound and lighting systems in the technology’s infancy.That was followed by four years as a production manager for a variety of live events and conferences in the UK and Europe, and project manager and consultant for numerous technical installations on land and at sea. In 1998 he was appointed head of sound for the world’s largest sound system installation project, the Millennium Dome in London.

After overseeing the dismantling of the latter system in 2001, Roland was appointed as technical director to set up and run a new sound, lighting and audio-visual installation company. After four years, he became an independent consultant and project manager.His other activities include presenting papers to the Audio Engineering Society, advisor to ICIA, a regular speaker at industry conferences, a judge for the PLASA Innovation Awards since 2002, Judge for the Audio Pro and AV awards and a regular author of articles for industry magazines.

He is also a consultant to manufacturers on the development of forthcoming audio products and, as a digital audio networking expert, is helping to develop and introduce the next generation of audio networking systems. Roland is a member of PLASA, AES, ISCE, EVTG and BEIRG

He is also on the British Standards committee for BS 7827, sound systems for sports grounds



Lauren Rogers - Biography

After completing a course in audio engineering Lauren started her career at Sound On Stage in Sydney, Australia. During her period there Lauren managed a range of different projects from theatres to boardrooms, outside broadcast to recording studios. These projects included the refit of Soundfirm Studios, Fox Studios Australia, the PAVA installation at Sydney’s domestic airport and the coordination of outside broadcast requirements for Australian Idol, ARIA awards and various sporting events.

In 2004 Lauren moved to the UK were she joined an AV installation company as Technical Co-ordinator.

Lauren joined RH Consulting in 2005 and runs our research work running our project and market research databases. On the consultancy side she implements new procedures into audio companies. She also works on numerous projects including the AV Installations at Xscape and St Pancras, as well as production work on large festivals and sporting events such as Royal Ascot, The Big Chill, V-Festival and the FIFA Club World Cup.
